A FORMER director of Taylor Asset Managers Ltd, Mr Edward Hobbs, of Summerhill House, The Curragh, Co Kildare, has been granted a further week by the High Court in which to file a statement of affairs of the company.
Mr Brian Cregan, counsel for Mr Hobbs, said that on August 28th Mr Justice Costello granted an order winding up the company and he had ordered all directors to file such statements within 21 days.
Mr Cregan said Mr Hobbs had been unable to compile the statement within the specified period and he sought to have the time extended for a further 21 days.
Mr Justice Smyth said there had been public disquiet over the company and he was reluctant to extend the time for longer than absolutely essential. He said he would review the matter in a week.
Mr Cregan told the court his client had retained a firm of chartered accountants to help him. He would require further and detailed information on the company from company personnel, one of whom was on holiday.
Mr Cregan said Mr Hobbs needed information from the company's internal accounts executive, Ms Emer Tansey and had been told by the official liquidator's staff not to speak to her. Any questions he had for Ms Tansey would, at the official liquidator's direction, have to be put in writing.
Mr Hobbs was anxious to arrange a meeting with the official liquidator to discuss the manner in which the statement of affairs should be compiled, to obtain his sanction to the cost of preparing the statement and make arrangements to have access to such books and records of the company as his accountants might advise.
