STRASBOURG - A former Airbus Industrie executive was indicted yesterday for manslaughter and involuntary injury in connection with the 1992 crash near Strasbourg of an Airbus A-320 airliner in which 78 people died.

The charges against Mr Bernard Ziegler, the company's former technical director, concern the design of the instrumentation for selecting the plane's landing mode.
