Freetown - The leader of Sierra Leone's rebel Revolutionary United Front, Cpl Foday Sankoh, was sentenced to death yesterday by a Freetown High Court on treason charges.
Cpl Sankoh was found guilty on seven out of nine charges relating to treason and murder for his role in assisting a junta that ousted the civilian elected government in Sierra Leone in May, 1997.
