Man held after allegedly producing sword and gun at shop

The 35-year-old was arrested on Dublin’s Dame Street after alleged incident

A man has been arrested after allegedly producing a sword and a gun at a shop in Dublin city centre.

The man (35) was detained on Dame Street at approximately 4am on Saturday after the alleged incident.

The man was said to have produced the weapons upon leaving the shop. Gardaí responded to the incident and restrained the suspect.

The man was then taken to Pearse Street Garda station. He is currently being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.
