The twin brothers were found dead at home in Deerpark, Charleville, on Thursday by neighbours after the alarm was raised by their younger brother, Jimmy (5). They died after sustaining multiple stab wounds.

Gardaí subsequently launched a search for their brother Jonathan who was missing from the house and his body was found near a tree beside the Awbeg River in Buttevant – some 15kms from Charleville- at around 6.30 that evening.

The three brothers lay in repose at O’Malley’s Funeral Home in Charleville for over three hours yesterday where hundreds of people paid their respects.

The boys were later removed to the Holy Cross Church where they were received by Fr Tom Naughton and Fr Seán Cotter.
