Body of man taken from river treated as suspicious

Remains found in search for Stephen McCloskey last seen two weeks

Gardaí are treating as suspicious the death of a man whose body was recovered from a river in Bridgend, Co Donegal.

The body of the man was taken from a stretch of water at Carrowreagh yesterday afternoon.

The office of the State Pathologist has been informed and State Pathologist Prof Marie Cassidy is due to carry out a post-mortem on the body, which had been in the water for some time.

Garda sources said the outcome of the post-mortem would establish if the man had met with foul play, which would dictate the course of the investigation.
