A couple were yesterday ordered to turn off all TV, radio and hi-fi equipment in their home at 10.30 p.m., after their elderly neighbours won a noise nuisance action against them.

Mr Anthony and Elizabeth O'Donavan, Beech Hill Drive, Donnybrook, Dublin, were told they could apply to have the order lifted in 12 months, provided they had not caused any further problems to neighbour Ms Rita O'Hara who lived next door with a sister and ill brother.
