All-Ireland medal winner Donal O'Grady will be named as Cork hurling manager next Monday night.
The St Finbars man reportedly accepted the position in the last 24 hours.
A number of individuals, including former Waterford boss Gerald McCarthy, have been linked with the post following the resignation of Bertie Og Murphy.
O'Grady won an All-Ireland medal with the county in 1984 and was involved as a selector in 1986 when Cork beat Galway in the All-Ireland final.
Meanwhile, the Dublin County board will appoint a successor to Kevin Fennelly tomorrow morning.
Seamus Murphy, Marty Morris and Mick O'Riordan are among the leading contenders to fill the vacant hurling post.
