An application by the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) for an order "freezing" a luxury detached house near Blarney, Co Cork to prevent its sale or disposal will be heard by the High Court on Tuesday.

The CAB is seeking, under the Proceeds of Crime Act, to "freeze" the house at Blarney, Co Cork, believed to be worth about £250,000, as well as a Nissan Almera car and two motorcycles.

The action is against Mr Thomas Homan, of the above address, and his father Mr James Homan (61), Kerry Hall Road, Fairhill, Cork. Mr James Homan is a former Workers' Party councillor on Cork Corporation.
