US Masters:Pádraig Harrington believes Tiger Woods will have to face a "huge amount of questions" about his private life before he is allowed to just get on with the job of being the world's best golfer.
World number one Woods is set to face the media on Monday in the build-up to The Masters, which starts on Thursday, his first event since taking a break from the sport in a bid to save his marriage after a series of affairs were made public.
The American superstar is sure to face a barrage of questions, and Irish ace Harrington is convinced Woods' best option is to be 100 per cent open about what has happened in his past.
The three-time major winner told the Mail On Sunday: 'It's probably right that it won't be fully over until a huge amount of those questions are cleared up.
"Some of them will never be answered. Some of them are nobody's business. There will always be speculation, innuendo and gossip. Tiger has to accept that. It's part of being a superstar. But he will add more over time and I think it's a progressive process."
Harrington insists in the long run Woods stands to become a better golfer, because he will have fewer distractions away from the course.
"He could end up being a more balanced individual, more comfortable with who he is," Harrington said.
"If you are sneaking around and doing things, that's not going to help your mental focus and who you are on the golf course. So I think in the long term it may give him a better attitude, and a better balance out there, which could make him a better player."
