Gardai are investigating a shooting incident at a house in the Ballybeg area of Waterford city this afternoon in which a 14 year old boy was injured.
The boy was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital where his condition is described as stable.
A full Garda technical examination was carried out at the scene.
In a follow-up operation, a burnt out car was discovered around 3 miles from Waterford city. Gardai are investigating the possibility that the two incidents are linked.
