One of the Bosnian Serbs accused of running the notorious Keraterm camp during the Bosnian war has surrendered to the UN war crimes tribunal, court spokesman Mr Jim Landale said today.

"Dusan Fustar voluntarily surrendered to the tribunal," said Mr Landale. He said Mr Fustar had been living in the Republika Srpska, the Bosnian Serb entity in Bosnia.

Mr Fustar, 47, is charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity for supervising guards at the Keraterm prison camp in an old ceramics factory near the town of Prijedor in 1992.

Over 1,500 Bosnian Muslims and Croats were detained in inhumane conditions in the camp. Many were tortured, sexually assaulted or killed.
