The body of a man has been found on the McGillicuddy Reeks in Co. Kerry.
The Irish man, who was in his 40s, is thought to have fallen hundreds of feet from an area known as the 'Eagle's Nest'.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident by a group of people who witnessed the fall.
His identity will not be made public until his family have been informed.
The man was found by members of the Kerry Mountain Rescue team who were in the area searching for a 22 year-old Swedish climber, Mr Olos Jansen.
Darkness has now hampered that search and it has been called off until further notice.
Mr Jansen was well-equipped with a tent and warm clothing but fears are growing for his safety.
He was expected back to his lodgings late on Thursday evening last and had arranged to send text messages to his family who were staying nearby but nothing has been heard since he failed to come back.
Gardaí involved in the search for Mr Jansen are asking for a lone male hillwalker who was seen in the Black Valley area (Gap Of Dungloe) last Wednesday between 3.30 p.m. and 4 p.m. to contact them.
The man was wearing a dark blue walking jacket and carrying a dark green army style rucksack.
He is asked to contact Gardai at Killarney - tel: 064 - 71160./064 31222.
