Brussels - Belgium yesterday was preparing to recall and destroy all of its pork products sold both in Belgium and overseas following a dioxin scare, a European Commission food expert said.

The buy-back operation, including fresh and frozen meat, whole and cut-up carcasses and all derivatives such as sausage, ham and pate sold to supermarkets, small retail butcher shops and restaurants could cost the Belgian government a fortune, said the official.
