The Turespana Majorca Classic has been reduced to 54 holes after bad weather again disrupted play today.

The Turespana Majorca Classic has been reduced to 54 holes after bad weather again disrupted play today.

Half of the 132-man field were unable to complete their second rounds on schedule on Friday due to a late-afternoon thunderstorm.

Further rain overnight and this morning meant play was unable to restart at 8:45 a.m. local time with bunkers, fairways and tees under water.

And with little sign of any improvement in the weather, the decision was taken at 11 a.m. to make it a 54-hole event.

However, no decision had yet been taken on whether the second round would be completed today.

Welshman David Park leads the tournament on six-under-par. He leads by one shot from Ireland's Damien McGrane and Holland's Maarten Lafeber.
