More than 100 churches in Northern Ireland have been attacked during the past three years, the British government has said.
In a Commons written reply, the Northern Ireland Minister of State, Mr Adam Ingram, released figures showing that in 1996, 52 churches were attacked; in 1997, 41; and to date in 1998, 23.
Eleven of these were attacked in the first three days of this month, following the decision to order the rerouteing of the Drumcree Orange Order march away from the Garvaghy Road, in Portadown, Co Armagh.
