LONDON – Two judges deferred a decision yesterday over whether to allow WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to be extradited to Sweden from Britain over allegations of sexual misconduct.

A written judgment will be handed down at a later date.

Lawyers acting for Swedish authorities told the British court yesterday that Mr Assange faced accusations of rape and sexual assault and should be transferred to Sweden to face them. Mr Assange’s defence team argue that the sex was consensual. – (Reuters)
