Police in Northern Ireland have appealed for information today after two robbers held up terrified petrol station workers at knifepoint.

Two men wearing balaclavas and armed with knives entered the petrol station on the Red Lion Road in Armagh shortly before 9pm last night.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland said the men forced two members of staff to hand over cash.

After the robbers made their getaway on foot into a nearby field, one man was arrested. The PSNI appealed for anyone who witnessed the hold-up to contact detectives at Armagh police station.
