The head of a public health centre in Vilnius said they were "98 per cent certain" that anthrax was present in one of the five suspect mailibags.

The US embassy in Vilnius said it had sealed off its mailroom on suspicion two mailbags could contain the deadly bacteria which has killed four people this month in the US.
