More than 100 people shouted abuse as Mr Gary McCrea (39), who is charged with the murder of his wife, Dolores, entered Donegal Court for a hearing yesterday.
Judge John O'Donnell granted an extension for the book of evidence to be prepared. He also granted legal aid to the defendant and remanded him in custody to appear again on February 13th in Harristown Court, Co Roscommon.
Mr McCrea was led away by gardaí and then had a lengthy consultation with his legal team before being escorted from the court.
