Bogota - A 12-year-old boy, whose deathbed plea to see his kidnapped father became a rallying cry across Colombia, died of cancer on Tuesday, relatives said yesterday. His death sparked fresh outrage at the FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) captors who snubbed the boy's last wish.
Andres Felipe Perez died at his home in the southern city of Buga after suffering a respiratory crisis, doctors said. His mother, Ms Francia Edith Ocampo, told reporters the boy's last words were: "I'm going to sleep. If Dad calls wake me up."
