Tirana - British aid worker, Ms Sally Becker, was shot and lightly wounded in northern Albania yesterday close to the border with the troubled Serbian province of Kosovo, the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe said.

An OSCE spokesman, Mr Andrea Angeli said Ms Becker, dubbed the Angel of Mostar for her work helping refugees during the war in Bosnia, was shot yesterday afternoon in the border town of Bajram Curri, 225 km north-east of the capital Tirana. It was not immediately clear in what circumstances she was shot.
