London - Over six million Britons of working age are still claiming social welfare benefits, according to figures released by the British government yesterday.

According to a department of social security report there is an overall fall in numbers, mainly due to a large reduction in unemployed claimants. However, there has been a sharp increase in the number of people claiming sickness or disability benefits.
