A four-year-old girl who was hit in the face while dancing at her aunt’s wedding reception has been awarded €30,000 damages against the hotel. Barrister John Doherty told the Circuit Civil Court yesterday that Enya O’Brien, Newbridge, Co Kildare, had been left with a scar on her forehead.
She had been dancing with her mother and aunts in a ballroom at the Westgrove Hotel, Clane, Co Kildare, when the band’s loudspeaker toppled over. Mr Justice Matthew Deery directed that the money be paid into court funds until she is 18.
