SATELLITE MUSEUM:CLEVELAND'S Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's first satellite museum is to open in New York City in November.
The Cleveland museum has been virtually a pilgrimage for diehard music fans, but now the museum is reaching out to New York visitors with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Annex, in Soho.
The 25,000sq ft state-of-the-art facility will feature an array of exhibitions, including a permanent "New York Rocks" Gallery, which will point the way to key locations in New York City for seasoned enthusiasts.
Relics on show will include Bruce Springsteen's 1957 Chevy, John Lennon's Record Plant piano, Elvis Presley's motorcycle jacket, and a handwritten poem by Jim Morrison.
It's the perfect cultural treat if you're going to New York for shopping this November and can bear to leave the mall.
A highlight will be the immersive theatre, a film experience that uses audio-visual technology to simulate the experience of being at a live concert.
Visitors will also receive wireless headphones, so that as they visit different exhibits they will hear the music relevant to the specific gallery they are at.
