The new face of Copper-Face Jacks

Copper Face Jacks night club in Harcourt Street, has had a reputation for many things but never its decor

Copper Face Jacks night club in Harcourt Street, has had a reputation for many things but never its decor. The one-time ballroom of romance for gardaí and nurses had a facelift and now boasts the de rigeur club must-have: a VIP bar.

It’s now a smorgasbord of great world decorating themes. It was a bit traditional, explains architect-in-charge, Frank Kenny, principal at Kenny Kane and Associates. “In the VIP area we wanted the space to look and feel like a riad.” Exotic, Moroccan-inspired lattice work on the windows, illuminated from all sides, now set the tone. “We also tried to keep the Georgian features, so you also see cornicing, window and door architraves.” New additions include a polished stainless-steel ceiling in the downstairs bar that is a 21st-century take on the mirrored ceiling.
