Pia Bang, retailer

Pia Bang opens a new interiors shop, Pia Bang Home, today on Dublin's South Anne Street in what was formerly Boutique Homme. Spread out over four floors, the new shop will contain furniture, furnishings, accessories and home gifts sourced not only from her native Denmark, but also from Belgium, Holland, France and the US, "everything for the house", she says, as well as Christmas decorations. Children's furniture and traditional toys can be found in the basement while the third floor is an area where special orders can be taken. Her style, which she describes as "Scandinavian country living, or the Cape Cod look" is one she reckons that suits most tastes and interiors and works both in a modern urban setting or in a country kitchen. Key features include off-white or pale grey painted furniture counterbalanced by check, striped or sprig printed cotton fabrics, small chandeliers and mirrors reflecting outside light. Her Grafton Street shop will now be devoted exclusively to fashion and accessories, with a special new sales floor.
