In 2007, An Post launched an initiative called An Post C Both Sides, asking people from all over the country to create a postcard relating to their experience of Ireland in 2008. The image above, December – A Windy Day, was created by an anonymous entrant.

An exhibition of these will tour the country, beginning at Dublin Civic Offices. Travel writer and broadcaster Manchán Magan will open the exhibition on Monday at 6pm. Magan was an enthusiastic contributor to the project, creating and submitting postcards from Peru and northern Spain. The project will tour the country until August, with tour venues including Tralee, Galway, Castlebar and Mullingar. Irish curator Helen Carey curated the exhibition with Westmeath artists Teresa Doyle and Edel O’Reilly Flynn.
