Surf camps in the popular surfing spot of Lahinch begin today for six- to 18-year-olds. The camps run throughout July and August, with two hours of lessons for five days. Cost is €100. lahinchsurfschool.com
BELFAST
A replica of the Titanic’s anchor arrives in Belfast this morning, presented by the cast of Titanic Boys. It will be pulled by two horses, leaving the Harbour Commissioners at 10.15am and arriving at Titanic Belfast at 11am.
SLIGO
The Sligo Jazz Project begins tomorrow and the first free event is Paul Clarvis and friends at 6pm at Hargadons. A season ticket for all five Hawkswell Theatre headline events costs €65 and a summer school runs daily from 10am to 4pm. sligojazz.ie

The Butlers Chocolate factory in Clonshaugh offers a Willy Wonka-style tour of the premises, which includes a chocolate museum and a tour of the factory floor. Family tickets are €45 and include a chocolate gift. butlers.ie
LAOIS
The annual Laois Walks Festival enters its final week. Tomorrow, a walk takes place along the banks of the Grand Canal in the Barrow valley. Thursday’s walk will be at Emo Court Demesne and the festival ends with the Durrow Leafy Loop on Friday. 087-7749281
