Ib Jorgensen opened his Christmas exhibition on Thursday evening at Hibernian Mall, Dublin 2. The most talked-about subject at the party was the appointment of Sean Rainbird as the new director of the National Gallery. He is currently director of the Staatsgalerie, Stuttgart.
Art consultant Síle Connaughton-Deeny greeted Jorgensen’s guests, who included the Christie’s representative in Ireland, Christine Ryall, and her husband, Patrick.
Riverdanceaccountant David Orr was also there. His wife Simone, who is chairwoman of the Dublin Symphony Orchestra, was at rehearsals for a concert at St Bartholomew's on Clyde Road this evening. The orchestra is performing Brahms, Weber and Tellerman.
Anne Henderson of the Irish Architectural Archive purchased a Joe Dunne (RHA) painting. Also enjoying the party were the artists Patrick Pye (RHA) and Esme Lewis.
