Routes to avoid around the country during the week ahead...

DUBLIN: Blackglen Rd from Lambs Cross through to Lamb Doyles will close to through traffic, 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. on May 15th and 16th: this is for essential road repairs. The alternative route will be via Sandyford Road, Wyckham Way, Ballinteer Road, Brehonfield Road, Grange Road to Harolds Grange Road and vice versa. Local access will be maintained at all times. Diversions will be signposted.

A section of the Ballyboden Road (Edmondstown Road) has been temporarily closed from its junction with Mount Venus Road to Ballybrack Road/Cruagh Road junction at Pine Forest Cross until next Wednesday, (May 19th) for essential resurfacing works.

The alternative routes are via Cruagh Road, Military Road (Killakee Road) and Mount Venus Road. Diversion signs will be erected, and local access will be maintained at all times.

A section of Cruagh Road has been temporarily closed from its junction with BallybrackRoad/Ballyboden Road to its junction with Military Road (Killakee Road) until Wednesday the 19thof May.

This is in order to facilitate essential resurfacing works. The alternative routes are via Ballyboden Road (Edmondstown Road), Mount Venus Road, Military Road (Killakee Road). Diversion signs will be erected. Local access will be maintained at all times.

Convent Rd in Dalkey closed from junction with Corrig Road to its junction with Leslie Avenue, for reconstruction and resurfacing works, until 6 p.m. May 22nd.

Alternative route will be via Carysfort Road, Ulverton Road, Harbour Road and vice versa. Local access will be maintained at all times. A traffic management plan will be in operation and diversions will be signposted.

MEATH: A race meeting will be held on the Fairyhouse racecourse on May 13th between 5.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. The racecourse is located between the main N2 and the N3, so delays can be expected along both routes.

CARLOW: Resurfacing on N9 Carlow-Waterford route north of the Leighlinbridge Bypass. Traffic flow reduced to one lane and traffic lights will be in operation.

Works daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., long delays can be expected. Local traffic can avoid this route by diverting via Milford or the Green Rd. The works should last approximately one more week.

Roadworks are in place on the N80 at Carrigduff until further notice. Traffic lights are in operation and delays are expected.

WESTMEATH: Roadworks and a stop and go system on the N4 between Mullingar and Kinnegad at Corelstown. The works are from approximately 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. and are going to be in place for the next few months. Allow extra time for all journeys on this route.

ROSCOMMON: Traffic restrictions are in place in Castlerea between Main St and Frenchpark junction. This is due to pipelaying works.

They will be in place until the end of May.

LIMERICK: Major diversion will operate on Lower Shannon Street/Henry Street until June 23rd, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday to Fridays inclusive. Local diversion route will be signposted and traffic on route to the north of the city, i.e., (Ennis Road Condell Road) from O'Connell Street, Roches Street, Mallow Street, O'Connell Avenue and Henry Street should use the Shannon Bridge.

TIPPERARY: roadworks will begin on N7 near Birdhill on May 17th, and will continue for about three months. Traffic control measures will be in place and significant delays can be expected.

WATERFORD: Roadworks at Tiknock, Kinsalebeg, between Piltown Cross and Youghal Bridge, and will be there for several weeks. Due to ongoing survey works related to the proposed realignment at Tiknock, Kinsalebeg, delays will be experienced over the next number of weeks (exclusive of weekends).

There are roadworks at the Clock Tower on the N25 daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The works will be there until further notice and delays are likely as a result.

CORK: Delays likely on Western Road from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. until Friday May 14th. A section of the R612 Carrigaline to Crosshaven Rd will remain temporarily closed until May 31st. It will close from junction at O'Leary's Cross to the junction at Grand Hotel Apartments.

The alternative routes will be via: southbound Carrigaline to Crosshaven: travel south from O'Leary's Cross via R612 towards Fountainstown to Forge Cross via LS-6524 towards Duggan's Cross, and then via R612-75 (upper road) to Crosshaven. Northbound Crosshaven to Carrigaline: travel south via the R612-75 (Upper road) towards Duggan's Cross and then west towards Forge Cross via LS-6524, and then northwards via R612-146 towards O'Leary's Cross and from there to Carrigaline via R612-25. Residents will be facilitated. The purpose of the closure is for the Crosshaven Sewerage Scheme.
