Routes to avoid around the country during the week ahead
DUBLIN: Blessington Road closed between Belgard Square West and Cookstown Way, for installation of a new sewer connection and manholes. Alternative route via: Cookstown Way, Belgard Square North and Belgard Square West. Diversion signs will be erected. Local access will be maintained.
Part of Lucan/Newlands Road, closed from junction with Esker Lane to junction with Ash Park Avenue for road realignments. Alternative routes via (a) Esker Road - Griffeen Avenue, Griffeen Road onto Lucan/Newlands Road. (b) Esker Lane/ Willsbrook Road, Griffeen Way onto Lucan/ Newlands Road. Diversion signs will be erected.
KILDARE: Works on Liffey Bridge in Straffan, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Heavy Goods Vehicles advised to use alternative route: lane widths severely disrupted.
WICKLOW: Works on Ashford to Rathnew bypass: speed limit is 40 mph.
LOUTH: Lane closures on M1 from Monasterboice to Dundalk to install a safety barrier. 50 mph speed limit.
WESTMEATH: Works on N6 (Dublin to Athlone Road) near Moate: delays likely. Works and temporary traffic lights at AIT in Athlone. Also broadband & Bord Gáis works in the area, so traffic to be disrupted.
KILKENNY: Traffic single lane one-way at The Watergate. Single lane one-way at junctions with Waterbarrack Lane & Irishtown to junction with Dean Street in northerly direction (i.e. Parliament Street to Dean Street).
LIMERICK: Works on Roxborough Rd between entrance to Roxborough Garda Station and city boundary, each day 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stop/Go system and traffic management in operation.
Old Windmill Road ( linking Lower Gerald Street and Upper William St) closed. Diversion signposting in place. The closure is for site construction work on Old Windmill Rd. Local Business and residential access and construction access only will be available to the public.
WATERFORD: Green Road closed from junction at The Six Cross Roads to junction at Ballycasin Hill, Ballybeg Drive. Alternative route in operation.
CORK: Shandon Street one-way outbound for the Shandon St Urban Renewal Scheme. Diversion signs in place.
Grattan Street one-way from Henry St to Sheare's St for Cork Main Drainage Works.
Works on N22 Cork-Killarney Road on Cork side of Macroom, delays expected at peak times. Point Rd in Crosshaven from entrance to Pipers Funfair to the Pier has been closed. Alternative routes available via Camden Rd and left along LS6521. This is for sewerage works.
Due to major roadworks being carried out on the N71 at the Viaduct Dual Carraigeway, the citybound lane remains closed. All Citybound traffic diverted to Westernbound Carriageway, and a two-way traffic system in place on Westernbound Carriageway.
Castle St one-way from Ringamahon Rd to Convent Rd outbound traffic diverted via Convent Rd - delays expected.
