The Barcelona apartment renovation by London studio David Kohn Architects (00-44-207- 424-8596, davidkohn.co.uk) is covered in triangular tiles that gradually change colour from green to red as your eye travels across the space. The project is in itself a homage to Barcelona and makes complete use of the space. The period features sing and the sleeping quarters are hidden in a raised area at one end. The architects were not afraid to blend old and new and to use different and essentially warm materials to create what is a very contemporary finish. For a more comprehensive sense of the space visit the architect’s website.Photograph: José Hevia Blach THREE OF THE BEST . . .
