A Georgian mahogany stick barometer and thermometer with brass and silvered dials, inscribed Miller and Adie, Edinburgh made 37 times its bottom estimate to achieve a hammer price of €7,400 (€200-€400). A pair of Regency mahogany side cabinets, Irish (possibly Cork), made €3,400 (€2,000-€3,000). Set of 19th-century hunting prints representing the alphabet, 20 in total, €2,200 (€2,200-€2,800). Bronze bear on Stilson wrench by Patrick O’Reilly, €1,900 (€2,000-€3,000). Pair of art deco design aviation chairs in leather and chrome, €1,750 (€1,800-€2,200).

Sale of Jewellery, Watches and Silver, Wednesday July 18th, 1pm: The eternity ring – a metal circle with no beginning and no end, traditionally set with diamonds – has become a symbol of longevity and devotion in relationships. The catalogue for O'Reilly's July sale contains a number of these rings at a range of prices.

Lot 371, a ring by the American designer Harry Winston – the gemmologist who famously donated the Hope diamond to the Smithsonian in 1958 – features eight carats of baguette-cut diamonds set in platinum (€40,000-€45,000). Lot 230, an eternity ring with diamonds totalling approx .80 carats mounted in 18 carat white gold (€1,000-€1,500). The sale also offers a range of diamond rings – the most expensive being a three-stone diamond ring with old-cut diamonds of approximately 8.70 carats in total, €65,000-€70,000 – as well as watches, bracelets and pendants. Lot 186, Patek Philippe gents’ watch black alligator strap with 18-carat pin buckle (€5,500-€7,800).
