One of the best known bars in west Dublin, The Anglers Rest, at Knockmaroon, Strawberry Beds, is expected to make in excess of £900,000 when it is auctioned on February 25th through John P. Younge. The owner, John Molloy, and his his family plan to become involved in "an important building project in west Dublin". The bar, one of the most distinctive in the Dublin area, had a turnover of £305,000 in the seven months up to December last. The bar and lounges have been refurbished to a high standard and about 3,000 sq ft at first-floor level is not currently used. In Kerry, the five-star The Aghadoe Heights Hotel with 60 bedrooms has been bought by a local business syndicate for over £4.5 million. The hotel is to be refurbished by the new owners.
