Richard Corrigan and Mary Lou McDonald want to cook your dinner

Three courses with wine, for a party of 10, are on offer. But whose dinner is attracting the highest price?

If you were to enlist someone to cook dinner for you and nine of your friends, would you opt for chef and restaurateur Richard Corrigan, or politician Mary Lou McDonald? The two have volunteered their services as a fundraiser for former Navan town councillor Ann Gibney, whose uninsured house was destroyed by fire. Mary Lou McDonald's offer to cook a three-course dinner, served in your own home, by a mystery guest, is proving more popular, with a bid of €1,000 being made by Sinead Burke, who is a Sinn Fein councillor and mayor of Navan. Corrigan will cook for 10 guests at his recently acquired Virginia Park Lodge estate in Co Cavan, and the current bid on this is €750, placed by Barry Flattery. An additional lot is dinner for 10 at the Central Bar & Restaurant in Navan, currently at €500. These are the top bids as of this afternoon, but new bids are being accepted at thecentral.ie/ann-gibney until midnight on August 31st.
