Worked for the NHS? Share your story with Irish Times Abroad

As the NHS turns 70, we want to hear from Irish healthcare workers past and present

Britain's National Health Service turns 70 on July 5th, with a series of events planned to mark the anniversary this week. Central to the celebrations is an appreciation of the "extraordinary NHS staff, the everyday heroes", who have worked in the system past and present.

Over the past seven decades, thousands of Irish people have travelled to Britain to work in the NHS at all levels and in all roles. If you have spent all or part of your career working there, Irish Times Abroad would like to hear your story for a special package to mark the Irish contribution.

You can share yours (max 400 words) using this form. Please tell us how, when and why you ended up travelling across the water, what your job is/was, how different the NHS is/was to the Irish system, how your career progressed, the opportunities you have enjoyed, and anything else you would like to mention. Please attach a photograph of you, either current or past, or email them as attachments to abroad@irishtimes.com.

We regret that we may not be able to use every story we receive, but a selection will be published in print and/or online.
