SATURDAY  Hats off to milliner Orla Cahill, who has fashioned three exclusive pieces of headwear to be raffled off at the Leopardstown Races today. SUNDAY One of Ireland's most notorious drag king acts, The Shamcocks, take to the stage at the Hub, Eustace Street in Temple Bar tonight following a successful outing at Pride 2004. MONDAY The Essential Big Band night at Mother Redcap's Tavern is an essential night out for those who get a kick out of flying to the moon, playing among the stars etc. Enjoy the sounds of Frank Sinatra past and present for only a fiver. From 9.30 p.m. Back Lane, Christchurch, Dublin.

TUESDAY Peter Kay is nowhere to be seen in this Phoenix Nights special which is part of the Bulmer's International Comedy Festival, but at least this group of comics are honest about it. "Phoenix Nights - Jumping On the Bandwagon" includes host Paddy McGuinness, who plays Paddy the Doorman, with fellow Nights stars Archie Kelly (Kenny), Janice Connolly (Holy Mary) and Steve Edge (Alan from Les Alanos). WEDNESDAY Expect plenty of wooden performances this week at the International Puppet Festival which takes place all over Dublin until the September 19th. Most of the events are in much loved Lambert Puppet Theatre in Monkstown and today's performances include Colours From A Desert by Jagdish Bhatt (7 p.m.) and Twice Upon a Time by the Karin Schafer Figuren Theatre (8pm). Tickets €9/€12.

THURSDAY Wake up, smell the coffee and raise funds for the Irish Hospice Foundation, all at the same time. Ireland's biggest coffee morning takes place today when Bewley's provides free coffee to those holding events all over the country. FRIDAY The second Green Festival in the north-west aims to raise awareness about everything from composting, waste prevention, energy conservation and organic food production.
