The West Cork Chamber Music Festival starts today in the unbeatable setting of Bantry House, and lasts until July 2nd so there's still time to make your way there. Highlights include French cellist Emmanuelle Bertrand and viola player Kim Kashkashian. Opera a la Carte, under artistic director Nicholas Heath, returns to Loughcrew House (left) for the seventh year with Puccini's most popular work, La Boheme (1896), a light-hearted, almost conversational lyric tale of aspiring artists and lovers in mid-19th-century Paris. From Tuesday to next Saturday, Dublin's docklands will be brightened up by on-street performances. Look out for Yingmei Duan during morning rush hour - she'll be barefoot, dressed in pink pyjamas and hugging a computer. In Mayor Square from Wednesday to Friday, midday-2pm, Amanda Coogan's Ar-ra-na-veen will involve 27 volunteer performers humming or singing along to the national anthem. See www.docklands.ie
