Two quality Languedoc wines on discount at SuperValu

Wines for the Weekend: This white would match well with summery salads, while the red would work with grilled red meats

Two Languedoc wines available at keen prices, both well worth a try

This week, we feature two wines on offer at SuperValu. They are from the Domaine de Baume, a large property in the Languedoc in the south of France. The Languedoc is a vast region stretching from the Spanish border to the river Rhône. It can produce good quality wines at very keen prices.

In addition to these, SuperValu has two Bordeaux at half price; Château Tricot Montagne Saint Émilion (€29.99 down to €14.99) and Château Sissan Bordeaux (€23.99 down to €11.99). Another Bordeaux that is well worth buying is Château Lacombe-Cadiot (€17.99 down to €12), a wine I have recommended on several occasions.

Fresh and aromatic with nicely textured peach fruits and orange peel. This would go very nicely with summery mixed salads, roast chicken or creamy fish pie.

Violet aromas. Smooth and powerful with milk chocolate, ripe dark fruits, a toasty note, and black pepper. I would drink this alongside a daube of beef, grilled red meats or firm cheeses.
