An lon dubh agus an focal scoir

Focal scoir na bliana faoin lon dubh. Bhí sé le feiceáil sa gharraí arís, é ag cur cluas le héisteacht air féin agus péisteanna á lorg aige.

Ní thuirsím den radharc in am ar bith. Thiocfadh le héaneolaí, gan amhras, próiseas na seilge a mhíniú níos fearr ná mise, céadfaí an éin a mhíniú. Níl spéis agam ina leithéid. Is leor liom an radharc féin.

Cad é atá i gcroí éin? Cad é mar a bhíonn a fhios aige go mbeidh greim le hithe le fáil san ithir? An dtig eagla air go n-imeoidh na péisteanna ar fad, go rachaidh siad go tóin na cruinne agus gan fáil aige orthu?

Ní chailleann an lon dubh a mhisneach. Leanann sé leis, go staidéartha stuama, ag léim ó ghairdín go gairdín, agus é ag déanamh neamhiontais den fhuacht agus den ghaoth. Tá tochailt le déanamh agus déanann sé é sula bpilleann sé ar a nead féin.

Oiread chéanna leis an lon dubh, tá mise le léim a thabhairt as gairdín an nuachtáin seo agus gairdíní eile a lorg. Is é seo mo cholún deiridh mar Eagarthóir Gaeilge.

Ba mhaith liom buíochas ó chroí a ghabháil le gach aon duine a chuidigh liom le hábhar Gaeilge a chur ar an nuachtán seo le 22 bliain anuas – leis na scríbhneoirí iad féin, leis na daoine a chuir ráiteas ar fáil nó a rinne agallamh liom, a chuir leabhar sa phost agus comhairle agus cuideachta ar fáil.

Ba mhór an onóir é. Slán agus beannacht.
