A PAUL Henry view of Killarney Harbour made by far the highest price at last Tuesday evening's sale of Irish art conducted by John de Vere White at the National Concert Hall in Dublin. It sold for £20,000, far outstripping the Aloysius O'Kelly oil of sailing boats in Concarneau Harbour, which exceeded its top estimate of £6,000 to make £9,700.
A William Conor wax crayon drawing called The Flute Player fetched £9,000, both a Gerard Dillon oil of a cottage interior in Innishlaken and a Howard Helmick picture called A Difference of Opinion went for £8,000 and Lilian Davidson's Market Day sold for £6,000.
Three pictures made £4,000 at this auction: Colin Middleton's The Open Book; an oil portrait attributed to Henry Jones Thaddeus; and Daniel O'Neill's Flower Sellers.
