You’ll feel like a bosom buddy by the end of this album

Label: Easy Sounds

Andy Cabic was a pioneer of the particular brand of quirky acoustic music – or "freak-folk" – that blazed a trail in the early noughties, but the man behind Vetiver has always been more than a soundbite. His sixth album is possibly his most diverse yet. A neat, subtle incursion into 1980s synthpop such as Confiding rubs shoulders with Time Flies By, a song that wouldn't sound out of place on a Parisian boulevard. The honeyed glow of Cabic's songwriting colours the familiar swagger of Current Carry and the 1960s pop jangle of Loose Ends beautifully, ensuring that even if you start this album as a complete stranger to Vetiver's world, you'll feel like a bosom buddy by the end. vetiverse.com
