It's not the first time old school friends Alex Frankel and Nick Millhiser have put their names to a debut album. The New Yorkers' tenure in Automato nearly a decade ago produced an album, generated some press hype and introduced the pair to DFA Records, all useful for Holy Ghost!, their post-Automato vehicle. They've taken their time with this album – debut single Hold Ondates from 2007 – but it's obvious that these slinky grooves, glittering tunes and anthemic disco attractions have benefited greatly from a lot of care and attention (as well as guest turns from The Rapture's Luke Jenner, Penguin Prison's Chris Glover and Michael McDonald). There's a lovely warmth and infectious glow to songs like Do It Again, Say My Nameand It's Not Overto ensure listeners remain hooked throughout.
