Most of us will know Yasiin Bey as Mos Def, one of hip-hop's most righteous stars and a man who has another career as an actor in TV shows and films like Dexter, Be Kind Rewind, House and many more. Tonight, he comes armed with a microphone for a show which marks the release 15 years on of his seminal Black On Both Sides album. What's fascinating about the album today is just how on-point it still sounds. Some messages never go out of fashion.

The title of this mini-festival from the Theatre Development Centre at Cork's Triskel may sound a little "meta", but, for emerging artists, it's more usefully read as an imperative: Show us what you've got. Now in its second year, this week of new works begins with BrokenCow's Prospect House, a story of a woman trapped in prostitution, and Outset Ensemble's intriguing Light Song (left), puppet theatre inspired by the stories of female lighthouse keepers in early 20th-century America.
