Who are the most creative people in Ireland?

A soon-to-be-published ‘Irish Times’ series will take a look at the most creative people in Ireland. We need your input

The Irish Times will soon be publishing a short series called Catalysts. We'll be taking a look at the creative people making things happen in Ireland.

We will be looking at what it takes to get a public project up and running, how a creative public space comes into being, or how an idea can go from a brilliant spark to a living, breathing three-day festival involving thousands of people.

To start this conversation, we need your help. Who are the most creative people you know? It could be the woman running a local cafe who has turned it into so much more, a public space that forms a key part of the community. It could be the man who has spent years booking bands and running a local music venue, tirelessly promoting up-and-coming acts. It could be the girl who took her pet project out of her garden shed and into the bigger world, and made a huge difference in the process.

Over on her Pop Life blog, Una Mullally has got the conversation started. She has compiled an unscientific, undemocratic list of the people she thinks are among the most creative in Ireland right now. It is envisaged as a jumping-off point, so we can get the conversation and the arguments rolling. We will then take your comments into account, and compile and print a more refined, more effective list in a few weeks' time.

No list will be perfect, but we’re hoping to build something that will be comprehensive, colourful and – most of all – inspiring for our readers.
