- Teenage kicks:The first Volume Control, a teenage club night at the Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast, will take place tonight from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. Run by 15-year-old promoter Ryan McCann, the non-alcoholic event is open to over-13s and will feature live music and DJ sets.
- A Corker:Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub) and Euros Childs (Gorky's Zygotic Mynci) will co-headline Cork's Pavilion Theatre on October 28th. Tickets €13 from Tickets.ie.
- Seasonal Dylan:Bob Dylan will release his first Christmas album in aid of the charity Feeding America. Christmas in the Heartwill feature the singer's take on seasonal staples such as Little Drummer Boy, and is released next month.
- Gorillaz in our midst: Damon Albarn has enlisted The Horrors as collaborators on the new Gorillaz album. There’s no release date as yet, but it will also feature vocals by De La Soul.
