Sweden has banned TV advertising to children under 12. The Swedish Culture Minister has called for all of Europe to declare children a 'commercial free zone'.

Greece has banned toy advertising on television and in 1999 the Government published a draft law that would extend the ban to advertising to eveyone under the age of 18

Belgium does not allow TV advertising to children in the Flemish part of the country, and is preparing to extend that to all of Belgium this year.

Denmark does not allow advertising five minutes before and after children's programmes.
