In Saturday's Quidnunc column the Fine Gael leader, Mr John Bruton, was quoted as saying that "as part of this island is British", hauliers in Border counties would be unfairly affected by the British government's proposed "Brit Disc" charge of £1,500 on non-UK trucks. Mr Bruton in fact said ". . . as part of this island is governed by UK tax laws".

In yesterday's What's On a number of events were listed as taking place in Dublin Corporation public libraries. Those events are only in the central library in the ILAC Centre.
