Teenagers tend to have active imaginations. How they express those thoughts differs from person to person. Organisations such as Fighting Words, and the schools with which it works, give students a safe place in which to express themselves, and are essential for fostering talent. They are influential in the development of confident, productive future generations, free to express themselves and put their wit, natural talent and intelligence into action. These 25 stories, written by transition-year students of Pobalscoil Neasáin, in Baldoyle, include personal tales that unite (bullying, friendship, loyalty, trying to survive school, trust and family); and stories of pure imagination, featuring magic or thrills. Whether influenced by comedy or thriller fiction, Stephen King or movies, the students express a world that sits in their imagination alone.
